Nice to Meet You!

Welcome to my little corner of the digital world! I’m Lauren, a poet and psychologist-in-training based in Western Massachusetts. I was a fruit farmer for a number of years, have been known to dabble with visual art mediums, love a good yoga class, and am often spotted walking my cat, Ollie, on his daily leashed walks.

As a writer, I am fascinated with metaphor, the natural world, and how written word serves as a way in which to process trauma and unresolved narratives. Stylistically, I’m drawn to prose poems, stream of consciousness, and confessional pieces — with a healthy dose of short verse and tight stanzas added into the mix. Check out my publications tab to see the latest literary magazines and journals my work has a home in!

When in the realm of psychology, I’m most interested in LGBTQ+ identity formation, religious and spiritual distress, trauma work, creativity and psycholinguistics, as well as therapy and therapeutic assessment across the lifespan. I conceptualize from a mainly psychoanalytic framework and one day, have my sights set on private practice here in Western Massachusetts. Check back in something like half a decade for the future Dr. Lauren’s updates.
